Imprisonment and fine of drug addicts in Mujibnagar

Today, on 11/01/2021, anti-drug campaigns were conducted in different places of Mujibnagar Upazila. The District Narcotics Control Office provided overall support to the operation led by Assistant Commissioner (Land), Mujibnagar and Executive Magistrate Mr. Nazmul Alam. At around 7 pm, a mobile court raided Saleha Khatun's grocery store in Mahajanpur Bazar on the basis of secret information and arrested Saleha Khatun with 140 grams of Gaza. He confessed to the mobile court that he bought the Gaza from India and sold it in his shop. Thereafter, the mobile court sentenced him to 06 months imprisonment and fined him Rs. The seized 140 grams of Gaza were burnt in front of the people. A search of Saleh's house turned up another 500 grams of Gaza. Sensing the presence of the mobile court, Saleha's husband Md. Washim Akram fled the house. Fugitive accused Md. Washim Akram is in the process of filing regular cases. Such campaigns will continue in the public interest.
